NOV 2009 - We are proud to announce the new album ISLAND DIPOLOMACY is set for release on NOV 21. We are throwing a cd release bash that night at Bobo Gallery, where we will be performing tracks from the new album as well as old favorites, acoustic, electric and everything in between. Check out four "sneak peek" mp3s available for download at in the MUSIC section.

Heartbreaker, face-melter: McGowan from NYC is set to kick things off, so come on out, we are eager to share the new tunes with you!!!

We are the second guest, so we come on about half through the broadcast and perform two (new) live acoustic songs "$$$$$$" and "Hope She Gets" and also shoot the shit with hosts Blake and Lesley. Spring 2009

Now take your coats back off, it's time for the sunshine and tank tops! We hope you all made it through the cold months and are now ready to get sweaty with us as we plow head first into the busy summer. First off, recording for the new album is just about done. Ryan and Jacob have been chasing the mighty whale with great perseverance and vigor. We may need an addition song or two and some final mixes to touch up, but its just about there, and ready for your ears, once we get a sassy cover and clever name to pin to its heart.

Look for spunkier live shows this summer as well. Ryan had another wave of song-writing hit that could be compared to a ferret snorting Smarties during Tsunami. The tunes are taking life in rehearsals and we hope they will be a flavorful spice, added to the live set. Some song titles include: "Hope See Gets", "Wordy Birdy" and "Pick Guard".

So we hope to see you out and about and hope you enjoy the evolution of Asheville's Zombie fiend rockers IF YOU WANNAS.

Winter 2008-

Put your coats back on now, it's Winter again. But worry not, there will be plenty of rocknroll music to keep us all nice and toasty through the holiday season. The IFs will be hanging around home more this Winter, with about a show a month, to close out 2008. It's been a very solid and productive year for us all and a huge thanks to everyone that came out to shows, played shows with us, happened to be in the room and stayed, and mostly to the folks that made us feel at home, while away from home.

Aside from the last few scattered shows, the IFs have begun production on their next record. This is hoping to be a full length album that show cases the bands' wide range of sound and songwriting. It also hopes to be completed by early Spring 2009.

Until then... see ya out on the town.

Sping 2008-

As the flowers bloom, The IFs are as busy as ever. So be sure to check out the LIVE SHOWS section and at our Myspace for all the upcoming gigs (home and away). We will be venturing out to some new spots soon and hope to see your smiling faces in the crowd. Also, we have 2 of the new tracks in "rough mix" form, posted on the myspace site. "Mindbender" and "pop tarts and fleas" both of which are songs that should sound very familiar if you are a regular at the live shows. Thats for all the support and love so far, we hope to see you soon, finally meet you.

If You Wannas on Moog compilation

Our track, "Another Longest Day of the Year," has been chosen for a new Moog compilation to be released next month. Check out the Moog Foundation website (bobmoogfoundation.com) for more info. We just filmed a tv appearance for Mount Dungeon on UNCTV. This episode will air in a few weeks. We'll keep you posted. We're currently booking shows out of town for Nov and Dec. Our cd release party is scheduled for Nov 2nd at the Grey Eagle, with Bullets N Lace. Also, our cd is available from kunaki.com. Buying a cd is a great way to show your support. Peace!

In other news, 2 very exciting new shows are coming up. OCT 30th, will be a very cool Halloween SHOW at the Jolie Rouge and later that week NOV.2nd will be the official CD RELEASE SHOW! at the GREY EAGLE!!! more details in the GIGS section.

FALL 2007

Welcome to the new and official THE IF YOU WANNAS website. I Hope you keep us company as we get this site up and rolling. Check back here regularly for all things related to the IFs.

As for now, keep an eye out to see where the IFs are playing around town (and when) and be sure to check out the new 9 song EP that is available at the live shows. It was recorded at High-Five Studios right here in Asheville,Nc and is guaranteed to knock your socks off.
